Dinner routine

Life in Sydney is tough if you're all alone. If you're on your own, you will soon run out of ideas what you're going to cook tonight or tomorrow night or the following night, plus cooking for yourself(i mean one person' share) is definitely tougher than preparing the dinner for a few persons. if you're on your own again, you won't feel like cooking, you will just eat out, but the problem is, you have to eat out alone!!! that's even more depressing.

i reckon i am lucky enough to have "dinner budddies". They are great and good cooks (Sherene, i am praising you now, once in a while i will still praise you instead of criticize you). While all i can cook are instant noodle (i learnt it in australia, shameful huh?), pasta(my everyday-pasta-meal roommate taught me), bak kut teh (it's the easiest, buy the packet of spice, dump the meat and spice inside, done), lasagna (haha, just buy the cooked one and heat it up), dumplings (just boil it in hot water), omelette (it's kinda hard you know, difficult to flip the eggs in the frying pan), fried rice (i officially announce that i am stepping into the advanced level, as the saying goes, practise makes perfect, you may want to try out my fried rice). ok, seems that i am quite a good cook, ain't i? at least i can cook different types of pasta!! and i believe that i will be a qualified cook soon~~~~~

ok let me introduce my dinner buddies. Initially we have 6 people in the gang. they are Katherine, KK, Tom, Sherene, Suchada and me!!! i am the youngest among them, yeah i am the only one who is 19 years old!!! ok, they will whack me up by saying this, ops~~~

this is katherine. an ex audit in E&Y, the first person i met in Sydney. frankly speaking, she is like my big sister and somehow take care of me. even the Auntie of the chinese restaurant asked me "where is your sister?" after she went back to Malaysia. yeah, she is now in Malaysia~~quit the "dinner organisation". her overused word in her daily life is "dao" when sth unexpected has happened.
This is Tom, Katherine's brother. He is the only student among us other than me. Currently doing actuary in Macquaire Uni, a big future huh!! He is my best buddy to train Sherene to be a tough woman through endless criticism~haha. he always claims that he has a big face "i think i should ask two trucks to knock me on my face to make it smaller, seriously!" lol..btw, he quit the dinner gang too, now surviving in the jungle area of North Ryde, but will occasionally come to the city to join us for lunch.
This is KK, katherine's fiance, a funny and interesting guy that has brought a lot of laughter to everyone. and yeah, i believe that he still is bringing laughter to everyone around him. A Mona- -Cafe-Lover too (i used "too" because i am a lover of Mona cafe). haha. he can call you a "san ba (as in bitch in English)" by just frowning, the words will appear on his forehead!! that's true!! Amazing!!!
this is Suchada, a Thai girl working in Sydney, will be here for a year. currently an accountant in E&Y (big company oh). she is also my student. student?? huh?? yeah, i am giving her chinese lesson, i have to say she is a quick learner. She is VERY MUCH against buying Homebrand groceries which include pasta, pasta sauce, or whatever that're labelled as Homebrand. "i dont buy Homebrand" she said it with a very snobbish look of a rich hosuewife and i will just laugh my ass off. currently still an active member of dinner organization.
ok this is Sherene. poor thing, she must have gone through a lot under our (tom and me) critics. she claimed that " the nice guy in sydney is either married, gay or students". that's depressing, but that's really true. so if you wana find a nice guy, don't bother to come to sydney. currently still an active member of the the dinner organisation. remark*** she is a better cook now, anyone interested in her can contact me. hehe..

so those are the ex and current member of dinner organization. so now, after katherine, kk and tom's leaving, we now have only three members, Sherene, Suchada and me~~It is always nice to have dinner together with them. We will chat throughout the dinner (wow, seems alot to chat) or watch series or movie while dining. that's a really nice dinner routine for me. although i am young ("ok la, stop stressing that you're young!" suchada and sherene will sure say), i can just mix well with them. Age doesn't really matter. what matters the most is your personality, your thinking way, and your willingness to mix with everyone anyone. That has made my life in Sydney interesting, not only confined to my course mates, but the people, great people i would say, the surrounds me.

thanks everyone!

suchada's old place. nice!! but she has moved to another place now.
some of the dishes we cook. ok actually usually it's only sherene and suchada who do the cooking, i am in charge of the washing.

preparation~~~

and last but not least, i am impressed and glad. life is not all about yourself, but the people around you. i am happy that i am always blessed with great people around me. Be it in Malaysia or in Sydney.
